The USMC EOD Explosive Ordnance Coin is for the Marines that were truly at the tip of the spear. The Marines are EOD. As Marine Corps Infantry continuously dominated the enemy on the field of battle, the enemy resorted to another means of warfare. This was IED warfare. Many Marines lost their lives and limbs to IEDs in both OEF/OIF to IEDs. Marine Corps EOD are subject matter experts in their field. This field was disarming IEDs and other unconventional ordnance.
