Claymore Front Toward Enemy Marine Corps Youth Shirt. The M18A1 is one of three separate components to fully operational Claymore.  The M4 Blasting Cap Assembly contains the blasting cap with 30-m (100ft) of Det Chord.  The M57 Firing Device is commonly known as the “Clacker” is used to initiate the explosive train.

When aiming the M18A1 Claymore the Marine Corps made it “fool proof.”  The front of the mine says “Front Toward Enemy.”  There is also a device on top of the M18A1 that can be used to aim the explosive down-range.
